This project was created as an 24 Industry Project submission in collaboration with the Web Development team cohort at BrainStation.
Role UX Designer, Copywriter, Asset Collector
Duration 24 Hours | January 2022
Tools used Figma, Google Drive, Slack
The Challenge
The COVID-19 Pandemic has affected jobs, businesses and workers all over the world and small businesses were unfortunately hit the hardest.
Our challenge was to build an MVP in 24 hours that helps BC businesses and professionals come out of the pandemic stronger
Secondary Research
We took a deeper dive into the world of small businesses and side hustles in BC, as our team felt this sector was strongly effected by the pandemic.
In a study conducted by the Direct Sellers Association of Canada, with a sample of 1500 Canadians
1 in 3 Canadians pursued opportunities to make
additional income in the pandemic
3 in 5 Canadians intend on pursuing
such opportunities over the next 12 months
How might we connect local customers to digital merchants in order to expand business visibility?

Final Thoughts
The industry project allowed me to collaborate cross-functionally with fellow UX designers, web developers and project managers. Working on Locally has taught me the importance of comprehensive communication and team building in addition to working under pressure and successfully delivering a product on a tight timeline.
